- Matching Stairs and Floor Trim -
Perhaps you are a homeowner in the Austin area and while undergoing a flooring renovation you realized that finding matching stair pieces is a lot more difficult than you ever anticipated. In the case you are a builder or flooring professional, well, then this is an issue you run into on a nearly daily basis.
The problem is that flooring manufacturers do not like to stock prefinished trim, especially stairnoses, bullnoses or stair treads.
Instead, they will use a third party manufacturer located five states away, that will make a very poor attempt to stain-match the maple bullnose to the prefinished birch hardwood, and the white oak to the red oak etc. And the results are outright embarrassing.
A Local Solution
After working in the flooring industry for many years, and after speaking with a number of flooring professionals in Austin, I was convinced that this is "the biggest problem in the industry" - (every flooring professional)
